Thankful November

Being thankful, grateful, and appreciative are concepts that should be recognized throughout the year, not just one month or one day out of the year.  Being thankful is the topic of the month with the upcoming holiday.

There are many things in this world I am thankful for, way more than I could list because it would take waaaaayyy too long!  Here are just a few:  I am extremely thankful for my loving fiance, my family and friends, having food, shelter, clothes to wear, and especially to be ALIVE!
Try and think of a different thing each day of the month that you are thankful for.  It may not seem like a lot but I bet by the end of the month you will have more than 30 things.  I find that the more I recognize and the more I am thankful for, the littler problems seem to be and I end up smiling more.  The more I smile, the more I have to be thankful for and the circle goes round from there. :)

I am also very thankful to have the opportunity to share my love of art and my work through my blog.  There has been increasing interest in my pieces on here, on Etsy, and through people I know.  A friend of mine at work, bought her boyfriend's mom a bracelet and a matching pair of earrings for her birthday and she loved them!!  She is a teacher in Vermont and she has been receiving many compliments on them from her colleagues!  When I heard that, it put the biggest smile on my face!  It makes me happy that something I have a passion for others are able to enjoy.

The winner of my Shades of Pink Flower painting sent me a picture of the painting hanging in her house and I was told how much she enjoys having it.

I'm so glad I got this picture so I could FINALLY show you the final piece!

Lately, a lot of my concentration has been on making jewelry because the holidays are coming and I am going to have a table at the URI Bazaar (Providence location) on Dec. 4th.  I have already sold a bunch of pieces so I have been trying to make lots of different ones!
Here are some of the newer pieces:

I bought some gold wire, now I have gold, silver, and copper wire to twist with.

I hope you are enjoying these as much as I am!  Let me know if you have any questions or would like any of them:  savviedesigns@gmail.com.

Don't forget to be thankful!!

Savannah

Twisting With Sandy

With hurricane Sandy, I had the pleasure of having no work!  It is a forced day off that I am spending making jewelry :)  I may draw and paint a few pieces because I have the ENTIRE day off!! That usually NEVER happens!

I have been falling in love with making earrings and bracelets.  I really enjoy putting together the different bead combinations and twisting the wire to make each piece unique.  I had brought a few pieces to work and I unexpectedly sold 4 earrings and a bracelet and received an order for a bracelet and earring set!! Everyone seems to be enjoying them as much as I am, I'm thrilled!

Whenever I start to think about making a new bracelet or earring I first look over all the beads I have and think of what beads go together and what beads/ colors I would use together.  Majority of the time, if I wouldn't wear it myself I wouldn't make it unless it was a request.
Here are some of the pieces I have made (there are a lot!):

I love all of them!  I will be posting them this week on etsy.  I just cannot promise which ones will be up to sell and when this week.  Some of the beads I use I bought years ago and can't find again or I don't have multiples of the same beads.  Some of the bracelets and earrings are one of a kind.  If there are any specific ones you would like or if you have any requests please email me and I will put them off to the side for you or I will tell you when I will put them up on etsy so you can purchase it.  Please email me at:  savviedesigns@gmail.com.

Enjoy and stay safe during Sandy!!

Always,
Savannah

Happy Creative Halloween!!

Halloween is right around the corner, I can't believe it's next week already!  It is a great time of  year for watching scary movies, making tasty treats, wonderful orange decorations, and interesting Halloween costumes.
I love drawing with charcoal this time of year because of the dark and sharp black color.  Here are some of the drawings that I've done:
Adding some color with the charcoal really makes the color pop and stand out.  These are some perfect decorations for this time of year.

What would Halloween be without a witches broom?
These are available on etsy.com if anyone is interested :)

Here is a charcoal/ graphite picture that I already posted on here earlier in the month but it fits the theme:

I love having drawings like this around the house for Halloween.

Now as for tasty treats - I have some things coming up that I have been looking at recipes for Halloween.  I figured I would share what I've found from Pinterest.
