Changing It Up

For the past few years the only material I had painted on was regular drawing paper.  This year I am having fun branching out!  I already posted some pictures of the canvas fabric I started painted with and love the look of it.  The newest material I have started painting and drawing on are....fake paper leaves.  I don't know what made me think of it, I was driving home from work and I had just bought a bunch of the fake leaves for my sister and I to decorate with.  They are so much fun because you can use them for whatever you want: place settings, on furniture under center pieces, candles, picture frames, and anything your heart desires.  Then all of sudden I thought, it would look so cool to draw something in charcoal on it.  So I went home, tried and it out and I have to say I absolutely love it!  I am still experimenting but let me know what you think and if you have any ideas of anything else that would look cool painted and drawn on these leaves!

Work in progress

Today was gorgeous!  A little warmer than I would like but still sunny.  I finally took some pictures to put up.  Some of them aren't finished and others are.  Let me know what you think so far!

I am trying to paint on cloth canvas for the first time.  I love the way it looks but it is a little more difficult than paper.

I really like how this one came out.  I tried using paper towel to sponge a different shade over the background.  It still needs to be cut out and put into a black frame, but other than that I like it.  What do you think?

Helloooo Fall!

Thank goodness Fall is coming!  Fall is exciting and alive with color, probably by far my favorite season.  I  have started painting and drawing for the Fall Barn Sale at Mangiacotti and the Shades of Pink breast cancer research fundraiser.  It is so much fun this time of year because I love color and this weather to me is inspiring.  My favorite color is orange and I love everything pumpkin!  Starbucks by far (so far) has the best Pumpkin Spice Chai, it is so rich in flavor!  If I could I would start each day off with one, I wish I could.
This is my favorite time of year to paint and think about all of the things that surround me during this season that I love and enjoy.  I for the most part, mix all of my colors that I use.  Sometimes I feel that is an art in itself.  Today I am going to try and get some work done and will post some pictures of what I have so far and let me know what you think!
